Hi, my name is John Kingston and I am running for Vermont State Representative in my hometown of Hinesburg.
I have a vision for our Hinesburg community and for Vermont. That, together, we can move our community and state to become even better. We can do that by balancing responsible government with compassion. I believe we can be fiscally responsible while also being compassionate.
I will always seek solutions that I believe to be in the long-term best interest of our community and Vermont. After a successful business career, I am a relative newcomer to political office. I carry no ideological baggage but rather a fresh view to understanding challenges and seeking solutions. I will listen to my constituents, always be willing to learn, and always be willing to ask tough questions.
With many Vermonters struggling with their personal budgets, while state and local budgets are also stretched, I will bring an approach centered on fiscal responsibility. We need sustainable local and state governments that take care of our most vulnerable citizens while providing opportunity for all Vermonters to stay in our wonderful State and flourish. Prudence with a long-term perspective of making Vermont even better.
